Responsibilities

As our Sr. Enterprise Architect, you will:

  • Work with our software engineering leaders to understand their needs and improve their teams’ performance with enhanced methods and tooling.  
  • Build our engineering muscle by leading the development and adoption of innovative standards and practices.  
  • Lead the evolution of our delivery toolset:   IDEs, DevOps pipelines, and environments. Focus on capabilities such as realistic testing, observability and monitoring, code quality evaluation, and leverage of low-code application platforms and AI.  
  • Guide our Enterprise API Management program, providing methods and tooling for the migration, standardization, and lifecycle management of reusable back-end components with security, manageability, and scalability built in.  
  • Support and evolve our LeanIX enterprise architecture management tool, focusing on data quality, company-wide usability, automated population, and integration with our knowledge management ecosystem. 
  • Establish metrics and targets for developer experience. 
  • Present regularly on your findings, recommendations, and progress in Architecture Review meetings. 
  • Enrich our software engineering community through coaching, mentoring, and team interactions.  
  • Keep abreast of trends in software engineering and apply them to our organization. 
  • Learn the concepts and methods of enterprise architecture and use them to guide complex change.  
  • Report to the Vice President, Enterprise Architecture, and work closely with IT Senior Leaders and the other architects.

Qualifications

Requirements:

  • 10+ years of experience delivering complex cloud application software with supporting infrastructure-as-code, preferably using Microsoft Azure. 
  • Experience in engineering, architecture, and agile team leadership roles. 
  • Experience maturing a software engineering organization through improved practices and tooling. 
  • Experience with modern API development for highly scalable and performant systems. 
  • Software architecture expertise, including the selection and application of design patterns.  
  • Current coding skills, preferably in C# .NET, Python, and Terraform, as well as in emerging programming languages. 
  • Deep curiosity and knowledge about current and emerging software engineering technology, including low-code application platforms and AI assistance.  
  • Strong coaching, mentoring, and group facilitation skills. 
  • Excellent spoken, written, and graphic communication, including the ability to tailor both formal and informal communications to serve different audiences. 
  • Experience building trust with diverse stakeholders and addressing concerns and requirements that are sometimes in tension with each other. 
  • Integrated business, technical, and social judgment, e.g., the ability to justify and prioritize investments based on their business value, technical soundness, and the readiness of software engineering teams to embrace them.
